In this kitchen, on the island- we used Torquay, a quartz product from Cambria . The overhangs had to be supported by metal brackets underneath the slab. This island lit up the kitchen very well.
Beautiful stone, Installed in a kitchen for island & Perimeter countertops. This is a honed- Calcutta Crestola Marble from a local distributor “Granite Imports” in Denver. Due to the soft stone and the surface being honed, we had to put an extra strong sealer on it, this will prevent any penetration of small stains and dirt. Although a daily cleaning is suggested for a stain-free countertop. The Island consists of two slabs, which are mirrored for a butterfly effect- it is a 3cm thick slab.
Kate has finished yet another beautiful project, Espresso colored loft bathroom.
Caounter and showercurb – Lagos Blue Quartz from Caesastone
Backsplash – mosaic tiles

YK Stone Center in New Orleans at the 2013 Kitchen and Bath Tradeshow
A look at Caesarstone booth. YK Stone Center actually fabricated the display table, looks nice ha?!!!
Ilya takes us to the Cambria booth..
A look at the finished booth set up. First day of the tradeshow!
Introducing a new product called the Neolith material from Spain.
Don and Sandra from The Stone Collection are at the booth educating attendees about the new product.
First part, as Ilya from YK Stone Center will take us behind the scenes of what it takes to create an amazing booth at one of the biggest kitchen and bath tradeshows in the country.
Caesarstone Supremo Collection is a new line that YK Stone Center is offering to our clients. The material is clean, fresh and timeless. It has a different kind of mood and flair about it. To expand on that, Queen of Hearts is actually a translucent stone, meaning you can back-lit the slab and make it stand out even more, creating that ‘wow’ effect in the room. Another- is that you can mix and match the materials within your room, but be at ease that they compliment eachother! This quartz material looks completely different than the quartz surfaces you normally see, this supremo collection is more of a subtle smaller shapes movements- where it doesn’t distract from anything, but adds a dimensional look to your countertops weather you want it to blend with the room, or contrast it. Caesarstone warrants the quartz material to be -scratch resistant, stain resistant, crack resistant, moderate heat resistant, low maintenance, nonporous->nonabsorbent, mold and mildew resistant, and maintain the consistency of color. The application of this quartz material is endless, you can use as countertops and backsplash in your kitchen, you can put it as a fireplace* (electric) surround, make it a unique bathroom with this contemporary vanity top, you can also create custom furniture pieces, such as small tables, wall art, seating area.
The Supremo Collection offers 8 unique color designs: Fair Lady 1650
Ocean Palace 1550Black Night 1620Queen of Hearts 1420Queen of Sheba 1150Shining Armor 1050Maharaja 1350Swan Lake 1600
Please stop by our Denver showroom to look at the Caesarstone Supremo Collection samples.
YK Stone Center has just finished a project at 4Seasons hotel, (40th floor) in Denver Downtown, with the ‘Fair Lady’ material, and it look absolutely amazing!!!
I’m waaaay late on this post, but i thought ‘better late than never..’ .
So here it is again.
Ilya, his beautiful wife Anna, Val, and I- took a trip to Las Vegas for the Surfaces 2013 tradeshow. It was once again, a great experience, learning, experimenting with new stone, products & materials, building relationships, and catching up with current vendors- whom we have a successful business with already. My main mission was not the tradeshow, but the educational classes. I’ve learned some key elements that I’m slowly implementing into my job- which is a great thing, change is always good!
Aside from the tradeshow and education, my other favorite part was eating at the ‘Gordon Ramsey’s Restaurant‘. it was TOP NOTCH, I mean- crazy amazing taste… this was my favorite restaurant by far, I recommend it 100%! Ilya indulged himself in steak, just melts in your mouth… ahhh make me hungry just writing about it.
Then at night we went to see the Le Reve at the Wynn, also one of my fave shows…
We did lots of walking as well, but this time i remembered my flat shoes.. hahaha, and a good thing I had them!!
Wanted to introduce a new idea for us. This was brought up to our attention from one of our good friends in the business, we tried out the concept and it turned out to be pretty rewarding. We had to make adjustments to make sure the bottle and the stone holder will balance and not fall. We have had so much positive feedback from people who received it and they all love it.
This works with a full bottle of wine only, do not place bottle-holder in reach of children or if you have pets (cats). The stand is fabricated out of left over pieces from granite, marble, and quartz. Other stands are available, such as the 3-bottle holder, but that one is secured at the base- these may stand alone and may hold bottles that are empty as well. Looks absolutely beautiful, and for sure will have your home guests talking about it!!!
Also, as I was browsing, I came across a page that was full of quartz material information, such as different colors, how to clean it, what the pros & cons are, Also ideas and designs on the remodel or building a new home, and just all kinds of different articles that are helpful in making a decision about going with quartz material. Also, below photos are from our very own blog, very honored to be part of their blog. Please follow the link to the official “engineered stone” page on Scoop. It page.
This post is long overdue. But, i thought I’d share the experience with you anyhow. This time it was only Kate (our permanent designer at YK Stone Center Showroom) and I (Gina) who decided to go last minute and attend the KBIS show. This was our first trip by ourselves to the windy state, it was a great experience. The trip was short, but we did get some time after the show to walk around the city a little- i love the elevated railroads next to the buildings and residential windows… I love it! At the show- established relationships with couple of new vendors, as well as spent some time with our current vendors to see how the business is going.
I wanted to add a post about Cambria quartz. We started carrying Cambria a little more than a year ago, and it has really impacted our business, and I will tell you why. Cambria is made up of 93% pure natural quartz, it is one of the hardest and most common minerals on Earth- which is why Cambria is the number one choice for a countertop.
The pros about Cambria material are that Cambria slabs are nonporous, do not stain, do not collect bacteria- FOOD SAFE, do not scratch, heat resistant (although the use of a hot pad or trivet is always recommended to prevent heating the product- as the direct and sudden high temperature change on the stone may damage it), certified by GREENGUARD, virtually a maintenance free product that is available for any home. Cambria is an excellent surface choice for a wide variety of uses, including kitchen countertops, bathroom vanities, shower and tub surrounds, furniture tabletops, fireplace surrounds, desk tops, wet bar areas, and window sills- not recommended for outdoor. Cambria slabs are available in 1cm, 2cm and 3cm thicknesses, and offers more than 100 designs to choose from. The natural quarts design goes all the way through the material thickness.
YK Stone Center is one of the few carriers of Cambria Quartz material in Denver, you are more than welcome to come down to our Denver showroom and look at the samples, some full slabs and done projects. You will love the product, as many past and current clients do. It is more popular in contemporary homes, downtown, and urban lofts, but the different shades and character of the stones are suitable for any home and any style that you may choose.
Most popular edge on Cambria Quartz is the ‘flat polish’ or have it thicker ‘mitered edge’ which looks absolutely amazing on the island- give your kitchen a big statement! see more edge options
To see some online inspirations, please go to Cambrias official site, the designs are endless!
Fall of 2012 Cambria introduced 6 new breathtaking quartz colors: (shown in full slab size)
This was a cool custom project that we finished earlier in the year. Basically the client wanted a table top, but could not find any support that would work to hold up the giant granite slab. So our welder custom made this table support out of steel. the table is being supported by half oval shaped plates that the granite material sits on, and the steel legs hold up the weight of the heavy material. Table top is from a very beautiful, very exotic granite stone called “Stonewood’.. The edge around the table is ‘upside down radius chamfer’. This turned out to be such a great project, Looks very clean! definitely an eye catcher for guests, and a statement for the whole house.
Another bathroom designs by YKSC interior designer Kate. These designs were created for brother and sister. Both bathrooms had to have similar look but with some differences- Just like brother and sister in real life. To achieve an alike feel, Kate used the same type of materials for both bathrooms- Gray Caesarstone quartz for brothers’ countertop, and Crema Marfil Marble for sisters’ countertop. By simply changing the tile patterns and using different colors she was able to add just enough difference to the bathrooms to call it “Brother and Sister”.
Thought I’d share some ‘during’ construction, or remodeling & updating projects. YK Stone Center Installation crew comes in when the cabinets are set in place and are ready for the countertops to be put on top. The backsplash comes in next of either of the same counter material in 4″, 6″, or full splash, tile, or just paint.
YK Stone Center install crew is very professional and detailed, leaving the area clean, with only a beautiful countertop for you to enjoy.
These are most recent projects that we installed, and the material is quartz, granite, and soapstone… All carefully cut out with our waterjet machine, and polished to perfection by our in-house fabrication shop.
YKSC fabricated and installed a white caesarstone quartz countertop for the guest bathroom. Counter design by Ilya Khrestsov at YK Stone Center. Miter 4cm edge.
Jeanne S. wanted to share a review of Y K Stone Center
This is THE place to go for granite, stone or tile! YK did a huge remodeling job for us–kitchen, baths, laundry rm, and everything was perfect! YK Marble Stone Center is one of the few companies to use newer, state-of-the-art technology when cutting the granite. We were able to see the placement of the granite on a computer before it was cut! This process enabled us to place a large black vein in the center of the island for a dramatic statement. Flooring on our entire first floor was done in a stone pattern, and the tile/stone “artist”, Vitaly, did a fabulous job – even cutting stone for the floor heat registers! (They blend in so beautifully with the flooring that we have to point them out to be noticed.) Our master shower was enlarged with new tile & again, everything went together perfectly. Ilya & his family were very attentive to our budget and time constraints. The granite installers came in with all these slabs, & everything fit perfectly. The job was completed on time & we could not be more pleased. Don’t forget to buy the granite cleaner they sell – - nothing else like it.

New kitchen counter granite slabs by YK Mable Stone Center three years ago and counters still look new. Installation is excellent with seams and cuts matching perfectly with no shifting at all. Front edge was built up to double thickness of the granite – excellent work and seam is largely unseen.

Although it’s been a little over 5 years since we had our kitchen remodeled, the granite counter tops and the tile work that YK Marble did for us were outstanding. After the work was done we wanted to do additional tile work and YK Marble Stone Center arranged for us to purchase additional tile which matched so we could do the wall behind our stove and refrigerator also. The workers were professional and good to work with. All in all, we were pleased with the work and quite happy with the installation.

Hi Gina, Love my countertop and sink. Your guys did a good job, as always. My friends are very impressed with the gray countertop and sink. Said they never thought about doing gray. Maybe you’ll have a run on gray. You are certainly an asset to your company, tell your brother I said that. Thanks again for being a great help.

We love it, Everything looks great, lots of compliments, so far no issues with anything.
We do hope to have you replace 2 of the bathroom vanities later in the summer, so if you are ever out in the Brighton area, let us know and you can measure them so it might save you a trip later.
Thank you,

You are too good to us! What is this special edge on the powder slab??? I love it! Ilya, thank you for suggesting we use the same granite. Everything looks stunning!! Gary has the black detail at his sink, and it all just looks beautiful! (He returns from his hunting trip late Sunday night so he hasn’t seen it yet.) Now, if only I can convince him to do the kitchen backsplash……Between the flooring and granite, this little old house is beginning to look better! We are so pleased! Thank you again.

They made the process easy They were knowledgeable, patient, and easy to work with throughout the process. As someone who gets lost in work during the day I especially liked being able to communicate over email as well as over the phone — responsive either way. My granite counter tops are wonderful, installation was quick, and they had some of the lowest bids without the cheesy discount store feel. I highly recommend them.
