YK Stone Center in New Orleans at the 2013 Kitchen and Bath Tradeshow A look at Caesarstone booth. YK Stone Center actually fabricated the display table, looks nice ha?!!! Ilya takes us to the Cambria booth.. A look at the finished booth set up. First day of the tradeshow!
First part, as Ilya from YK Stone Center will take us behind the scenes of what it takes to create an amazing booth at one of the biggest kitchen and bath tradeshows in the country. Caesarstone Supremo Collection is a new line that YK Stone Center is offering to our clients. The material is clean, fresh and timeless. It has a different kind of mood and flair about it. To expand on that, Queen of Hearts is actually a translucent stone, meaning you can back-lit the slab and make it stand out even more, creating that ‘wow’ effect in the room. Another- is that you can mix and match the materials within your room, but be at ease that they compliment eachother! This quartz material looks completely different than the quartz surfaces you normally see, this supremo collection is more of a subtle smaller shapes movements- where it doesn’t distract from anything, but adds a dimensional look to your countertops weather you want it to blend with the room, or contrast it. Caesarstone warrants the quartz material to be -scratch resistant, stain resistant, crack resistant, moderate heat resistant, low maintenance, nonporous->nonabsorbent, mold and mildew resistant, and maintain the consistency of color. The application of this quartz material is endless, you can use as countertops and backsplash in your kitchen, you can put it as a fireplace* (electric) surround, make it a unique bathroom with this contemporary vanity top, you can also create custom furniture pieces, such as small tables, wall art, seating area. The Supremo Collection offers 8 unique color designs:
Please take a look at the official page of Caesarstone Supremo Collection here. Please stop by our Denver showroom to look at the Caesarstone Supremo Collection samples. YK Stone Center has just finished a project at 4Seasons hotel, (40th floor) in Denver Downtown, with the ‘Fair Lady’ material, and it look absolutely amazing!!! I’m waaaay late on this post, but i thought ‘better late than never..’ . Aside from the tradeshow and education, my other favorite part was eating at the ‘Gordon Ramsey’s Restaurant‘. it was TOP NOTCH, I mean- crazy amazing taste… this was my favorite restaurant by far, I recommend it 100%! Ilya indulged himself in steak, just melts in your mouth… ahhh make me hungry just writing about it.
Wanted to introduce a new idea for us. This was brought up to our attention from one of our good friends in the business, we tried out the concept and it turned out to be pretty rewarding. We had to make adjustments to make sure the bottle and the stone holder will balance and not fall. We have had so much positive feedback from people who received it and they all love it. Just came across this unique video from Silestone. please check it out. Also from Cambria As well as Caesarstone. Also, as I was browsing, I came across a page that was full of quartz material information, such as different colors, how to clean it, what the pros & cons are, Also ideas and designs on the remodel or building a new home, and just all kinds of different articles that are helpful in making a decision about going with quartz material. Also, below photos are from our very own blog, very honored to be part of their blog. Please follow the link to the official “engineered stone” page on Scoop. It page. This post is long overdue. But, i thought I’d share the experience with you anyhow. This time it was only Kate (our permanent designer at YK Stone Center Showroom) and I (Gina) who decided to go last minute and attend the KBIS show. This was our first trip by ourselves to the windy state, it was a great experience. The trip was short, but we did get some time after the show to walk around the city a little- i love the elevated railroads next to the buildings and residential windows… I love it! At the show- established relationships with couple of new vendors, as well as spent some time with our current vendors to see how the business is going.
I wanted to add a post about Cambria quartz. We started carrying Cambria a little more than a year ago, and it has really impacted our business, and I will tell you why. Cambria is made up of 93% pure natural quartz, it is one of the hardest and most common minerals on Earth- which is why Cambria is the number one choice for a countertop. The pros about Cambria material are that Cambria slabs are nonporous, do not stain, do not collect bacteria- FOOD SAFE, do not scratch, heat resistant (although the use of a hot pad or trivet is always recommended to prevent heating the product- as the direct and sudden high temperature change on the stone may damage it), certified by GREENGUARD, virtually a maintenance free product that is available for any home. Cambria is an excellent surface choice for a wide variety of uses, including kitchen countertops, bathroom vanities, shower and tub surrounds, furniture tabletops, fireplace surrounds, desk tops, wet bar areas, and window sills- not recommended for outdoor. Cambria slabs are available in 1cm, 2cm and 3cm thicknesses, and offers more than 100 designs to choose from. The natural quarts design goes all the way through the material thickness. YK Stone Center is one of the few carriers of Cambria Quartz material in Denver, you are more than welcome to come down to our Denver showroom and look at the samples, some full slabs and done projects. You will love the product, as many past and current clients do. It is more popular in contemporary homes, downtown, and urban lofts, but the different shades and character of the stones are suitable for any home and any style that you may choose. To see some online inspirations, please go to Cambrias official site, the designs are endless! Fall of 2012 Cambria introduced 6 new breathtaking quartz colors: (shown in full slab size) This was a cool custom project that we finished earlier in the year. Basically the client wanted a table top, but could not find any support that would work to hold up the giant granite slab. So our welder custom made this table support out of steel. the table is being supported by half oval shaped plates that the granite material sits on, and the steel legs hold up the weight of the heavy material. Table top is from a very beautiful, very exotic granite stone called “Stonewood’.. The edge around the table is ‘upside down radius chamfer’. This turned out to be such a great project, Looks very clean! definitely an eye catcher for guests, and a statement for the whole house.
ok couple more recent jobs that i had my camera onsite. Clean kitchen countertops. A beautiful addition to ANY home! Another bathroom designs by YKSC interior designer Kate. These designs were created for brother and sister. Both bathrooms had to have similar look but with some differences- Just like brother and sister in real life. To achieve an alike feel, Kate used the same type of materials for both bathrooms- Gray Caesarstone quartz for brothers’ countertop, and Crema Marfil Marble for sisters’ countertop. By simply changing the tile patterns and using different colors she was able to add just enough difference to the bathrooms to call it “Brother and Sister”.
Thought I’d share some ‘during’ construction, or remodeling & updating projects. YK Stone Center Installation crew comes in when the cabinets are set in place and are ready for the countertops to be put on top. The backsplash comes in next of either of the same counter material in 4″, 6″, or full splash, tile, or just paint.
YKSC fabricated and installed a white caesarstone quartz countertop for the guest bathroom. Counter design by Ilya Khrestsov at YK Stone Center. Miter 4cm edge. Another successful master bathroom remodel done by YK Stone Center. The owners weren’t sure what to do with their dated master bathroom when they came to our showroom but with help from our interior designer Kate Khrestsov, they were able to transform their space into functional more open and elegant Master Bathroom retreat. From swapping cabinets, countertops, tile to installing modern mirrors, undermount sinks, light fixtures, and replacing a shower glass block wall to clear glass-enclosed wall, this bath remodel illustrates a complete bathroom update, without changing the layout of the room. The old tile countertops were replaced with Sovereign Copper granite. In addition, the drop-in sinks were replaced with two square undermount sinks. The first generation pink ceramic wall tiles were changed to 6×12 travertine set in brick pattern. To bring a wow factor to the bathroom Kate used wavy glass mosaic tile throughout to tie-in and bring out all the colors of the granite. Floors also got a face lift. By switching old 12×12 ceramic tiles to porcelain wood planks, Kate was able to achieve a hardwood look that homeowners wanted. Outdated low cabinets were replaced with taller and more functional dark chocolate shaker style cabinets, from a cabinet line that is being sold by YK Stone Center. Before Very contemporary duplex built from ground up by Turner Homes. YK Stone Center had fabricated and installed the Caesarstone quartz countertops and tiles. Our showroom designer Kate Khrestsov was responsible for kitchen and bath designs and colors for both units.
